My Approach
My clinical work is all trauma informed and draws from approaches including:
-
CBT-E can be used to treat all forms of eating disorders. It is designed to be an outpatient treatment and can be used to help individuals recover while at home. Although CBT-E is a structured treatment, it is also very individualized and tailored to each patient. The treatment consists of 4 stages and allows for individuals to build the understanding and skills to be able to maintain their recovery long term.
-
The leading evidenced based treatment for treatment adolescents with eating disorders. It is designed to be used in an outpatient setting, allowing adolescents to be able to recover at home and empowering families to be able to support their child in the recovery long term. FBT actively involves parents in their child's recovery with support from their therapist
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder - specialized cognitive behavioral therapy used to treat ARFID (avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder). It's an outpatient treatment for adults, adolescents and children. It helps individuals increase their intake and expand their food variety in order to improve overall nutrition and to maintain a safe weight. It addresses the various subtypes of ARFID including fear of aversive consequences, sensory sensitivities and lack of interest.
-
Helping you understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and develop more helpful ways of responding.
-
Creating space for difficult thoughts and feelings while building the flexibility to move toward the things that matter most to you.
-
Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy - a form of DBT used to treat disorders of overcontrol, such as anorexia and OCD. It teaches openness, ability to adapt and social connection through vulnerability.
